Studio One Strikes Deal With Fox, WorldNow
By Mike Shields
Studio One Networks, a syndicator of originally produced lifestyle content across a wide network of Web sites, has expanded its network’s reach to include all 25 Fox-owned-and-operated TV station Web sites, as well as 170 local media Web destinations represented by WorldNow, which include several prominent ABC and NBC affiliate sites. Back in 2005, the company announced a similar deal with Viacom to distribute content on 17 CBS O&O sites.
Included in the new partnerships are several local affiliates in major markets, such as the MyFox Web sites in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Tampa, Fla., as well as local ABC sites in New York and San Francisco. The expansion now brings Studio One's wide-ranging Web syndication network to 112 million unique users per month from roughly 100 million monthly uniques.
Studio One's service/lifestyle content has attracted several prominent advertisers, including Nestlé (which sponsors the parenting-focused editorial package Your Baby Today), as well as Bridgestone, Procter & Gamble and DuPont. The company recently landed IBM as the first sponsor of its new IT Business Insider content.
In addition to the new content outlets, Studio One also announced that it has renewed its ongoing distribution arrangement with AOL.
